The 2018 Commonwealth Games, officially known as the XXI Commonwealth Games and commonly known as Gold Coast 2018, were an international multi-sport event for members of Commonwealth that were held on Gold the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia, between 4 and 15 April 2018.

Mascot
Borobi was named as the mascot of the 2018 Commonwealth Games in 2016. Borobi is a blue koala, with indigenous markings on its body.
The term “borobi” means koala in the Yugambeh language, spoken by the indigenous Yugambeh peole of the Gold Coast and surrounding areas.

The 2022 Commonwealth Games, officially known as the XXII Commonwealth Games and commonly known as Brimingham 2022, is an international multi-sport event for members of the Commonwealth that is scheduled to be held in Brimingham, England.
This is due to be the third time England has hosted the Games.
Motto : Heart of the UK, Soul of the Commonwealth Game
On 21 December 2017, Brimingham was awarded for 2022 Games as Durban’s replacement host.

Overall, India’s captured 66 medals, including 26 gold, 20 silver and as many bronze. India bettered their gold medal tally from the last Games in Glassgow, 2014. Haryana(9 Gold, 6 Silver & 7 bronze) is the top state who bags more of the medals in India.

Mirabhai Chanu
Weightlifter Mirabai Chanu was the first gold winner for India, on the opening day, in the women’s 48 kg category.
From : Imphal, Manipur. Mary Kom is also belng to Manipur.
She won the gold medal at World Weightlifting Championships held in Anaheim, united States.
Sanjita Chanu
Weightlifter Sanjita Chanu landed India its second gold medal, winning the top spot in the women’s 53 category.

Satish Kumar Sivalingam
Weightlifter Satish Kumar Sivalingam won India’s third gold in the men’s 77 kg category.

Weightlifter Punam Yadav became the third woman to win the gold for India, coming out on top in the women’s 9 kg category at the CWG 2018.

♦ Sachin Chaudhary did the country proud by bagging a bronze medal in the men’s heavyweight category in para power lifting of the XXI Commonwealth Games.
