Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) exam is conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), Delhi for 2 times in a year. First exam is held in July-August and second exam is in December-January. The difficulty level of the CTET exam is usually easy to moderate, therefore, it is not very tough to crack the CTET exam. CTET exam for 2020 was conducted in January 2021 and the results were announced in February 2021. It was earlier scheduled to be held in July 2020. Over 6 lakhs candidates passed the exam.
The CTET Paper-I is for candidates who want to teach Classes 1-5 and Paper-II is for candidates who want to teach Classes 6-8. Candidates who wish to teach Classes 1-8 need to take both the papers.
CTET Eligibility Criteria 2021-2022
This exam is composed by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). CTET Eligibility 2021 is laid down by CBSE for both Paper 1 and Paper 2. The basic requirement is to have passed senior secondary or graduation with minimum 50% aggregate marks and relevant teacher training program.
Age Limit
- The applicant must be a citizen of India to be eligible for CTET 2021
- There is no age restriction, however, the candidate must be minimum 17 years of age.
Education Qualification Requirements
Candidates must fulfill different eligibility conditions to be a Primary or Elementary Teacher. CTET Eligibility 2021 requirements are explained below for Paper 1 and Paper 2:
CTET Eligibility Criteria Paper 1 For Primary (1 to 5)
☛ Candidate must have 50% marks in 12th class and completed or pursuing 2 years diploma in elementary education.
☛ Candidates should have passed class 12th with at least 45% marks and should have 2 years diploma in elementary education from NCTE recognized institute.
☛ Candidates should have passed 12th with a minimum of 50% marks and must have completed the four years of the Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.EL.ED).
☛ Candidates should have passed the 12th examination with not less than 50% marks and passed or final year of Diploma in Education (two years duration).
☛ Candidates must have completed Graduation and cleared or pursuing the final year of Diploma in Elementary Education (two years duration).
CTET Eligibility Criteria Paper 1 For Elementary Level (6 to 8)
☛ The candidate must have done Graduation or appearing in the final year two years diploma in elementary education.
☛ Candidate must have 50% marks in 12th class and should have done one year B.Ed programme.
☛ The Candidate must have completed Graduation with minimum of 45% marks and passed or pursuing in Bachelor in Education of 1-year duration per the NCTE rules & regulations released on time to time.
☛ Candidate must have completed Graduation with 50% marks and passed or pursuing in B.Ed 1 I year course.
☛ The Candidate must have passed Graduation with 50% marks and passed or pursuing in last year of bachelor in Elementary Education (4-year duration).
☛ The candidate must complete the 12th Examination with 50% marks and also passed the final year of B.Sc/BA. or B.Sc.Ed/B.A.Ed (4-year duration).
Note: There will be 5% relaxation in the qualifying marks in the minimum Educational Qualification for you if you belong to SC/ST/OBC/Person with Disabilities category.
