CTET Syllabus 2021 Paper 1 & 2 PDF Download – PL & UPL (In Hindi & English) – CTET Primary and Secondary/Elementary School

CTET 2021-22 Syllabus and Exam Patterns for Paper 1 and 2 are available with Topic Wise. Aspirants who want to become a teacher for Class 1st to 5th (Primary Stage Teacher) need to appear in CTET Paper 1. On Other side, a teacher for Class 6th to 8th need to appear in CTET Paper 2 Exam. CBSC has decided to conduct the CTET exam once in a year.

For Class 6-8 Senior Secondary with B.A/ B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/ B.Sc.Ed/ B.A.Ed/ Graduation with D.EI.Ed/B.Ed

CTET 2021 Paper 1 Exam Pattern

This exam will be for Primary Stage Teachers and exam duration is 2.5 hours. Paper 1 Structure and Contents with marks is given below.

CTET Paper 1 Important Points

Below are given the nature and standard of questions from Paper 1.

  1. The section on Child Development and Pedagogy will focus on educational psychology of teaching and learning relevant to the age group of 6-11 years. They will focus on understanding the characteristics and needs of diverse learners, interaction with learners and the attributes and qualities of a good facilitator of learning. (बाल विकास और शिक्षाशास्त्र पर धारा 6-11 वर्ष की आयु के लिए प्रासंगिक शिक्षण और शिक्षण के शैक्षिक मनोविज्ञान पर केंद्रित होगी। वे विविध शिक्षार्थियों की विशेषताओं और जरूरतों, शिक्षार्थियों के साथ बातचीत और सीखने के एक अच्छे सूत्रधार के गुणों और गुणों को समझने पर ध्यान केंद्रित करेंगे।)
  2. The section in Language 1 will focus on the proficiency related to the medium of instruction. (भाषा 1 में अनुभाग शिक्षा के माध्यम से संबंधित प्रवीणता पर केंद्रित होगा।)
  3. The section in Language 2 will focus on the elements of language, communication and comprehension abilities. (भाषा 2 में अनुभाग भाषा, संचार और समझ की क्षमताओं के तत्वों पर केंद्रित होगा।)
  4. Language 2 will be a language other than Language 1. A candidate may choose any one language as Language 1 and other as Language 2 from the available language options and will be required to specify the same in the Confirmation Page. —– Language options would be English, Hindi and Sanskrit only. Candidate may choose only two languages from English, Hindi and Sanskrit only. (भाषा 2 भाषा के अलावा अन्य भाषा होगी। एक उम्मीदवार किसी भी भाषा को भाषा 1 के रूप में चुन सकता है और अन्य भाषा 2 को भाषा के रूप में उपलब्ध विकल्पों में से चुन सकता है और पुष्टिकरण पृष्ठ में उसे निर्दिष्ट करने की आवश्यकता होगी। —– भाषा के विकल्प केवल अंग्रेजी, हिंदी और संस्कृत होंगे। उम्मीदवार केवल अंग्रेजी, हिंदी और संस्कृत में से केवल दो भाषाओं का चयन कर सकते हैं।)
  5. The section in Mathematics and Environmental Studies will focus on the concepts, problem solving abilities and pedagogical understanding of the subjects. In all these subject areas, the section will be evenly distributed over different divisions of the syllabus of that subject prescribed for classes 1 – 5 by the NCERT. (गणित और पर्यावरण अध्ययन में अनुभाग अवधारणाओं, समस्याओं को सुलझाने की क्षमताओं और विषयों की शैक्षणिक समझ पर ध्यान केंद्रित करेगा। इन सभी विषय क्षेत्रों में, इस खंड को NCERT द्वारा कक्षा 1 – 5 के लिए निर्धारित उस विषय के पाठ्यक्रम के विभिन्न प्रभागों पर समान रूप से वितरित किया जाएगा।)

Paper 1 is for teachers those wants to teach Class 1st to 5th students. We can say them as a primary teacher.

CTET Syllabus Paper 1 – Child Development and Pedagogy

It contains three parts as given below. This section if for 30 marks, each having 1 mark.

Part 1 : Child Development (Primary School Child) – 15 Questions

  • Concept of development and its relationship with learning (विकास की अवधारणा और सीखने के साथ इसका संबंध)
  • Principles of the development of children (बच्चों के विकास के सिद्धांत)
  • Influence of Heredity & Environment (आनुवंशिकता और पर्यावरण का प्रभाव)
  •  Socialization processes: Social world & children (Teacher, Parents, Peers) समाजीकरण की प्रक्रिया: सामाजिक दुनिया और बच्चे (शिक्षक, माता-पिता, सहकर्मी)
  • Piaget, Kohlberg and Vygotsky: constructs and critical perspectives (पियागेट, कोह्लबर्ग और वायगोत्स्की: निर्माण और महत्वपूर्ण दृष्टिकोण)
  • Concepts of child-centered and progressive education (बाल-केंद्रित और प्रगतिशील शिक्षा की अवधारणा)
  • Critical perspective of the construct of Intelligence (इंटेलिजेंस के निर्माण का महत्वपूर्ण परिप्रेक्ष्य)
  • Multi-Dimensional Intelligence (मल्टी-डाइमेंशनल इंटेलिजेंस)
  • Language & Thought (भाषा और विचार)
  • Gender as a social construct; gender roles, gender-bias and educational practice (एक सामाजिक निर्माण के रूप में लिंग; लिंग भूमिकाएं, लिंग-पूर्वाग्रह और शैक्षिक अभ्यास)
  • Individual differences among learners, understanding differences based on diversity of language, caste, gender, community, religion etc. (शिक्षार्थियों के बीच व्यक्तिगत अंतर, भाषा की विविधता, जाति, लिंग, समुदाय, धर्म आदि के आधार पर मतभेदों को समझना।)
  • Distinction between Assessment for learning and assessment of learning; (सीखने और सीखने के आकलन के लिए मूल्यांकन के बीच का अंतर;)
  •  School-Based Assessment, Continuous & Comprehensive Evaluation: perspective and practice (स्कूल-आधारित मूल्यांकन, सतत और व्यापक मूल्यांकन: परिप्रेक्ष्य और अभ्यास)
  • Formulating appropriate questions for assessing readiness levels of learners; for enhancing learning and critical thinking in the classroom and for assessing learner achievement. (शिक्षार्थियों के तत्परता के स्तर का आकलन करने के लिए उपयुक्त प्रश्नों का निर्माण; कक्षा में सीखने और महत्वपूर्ण सोच को बढ़ाने और सीखने की उपलब्धि का आकलन करने के लिए।)

Part 2 : Concept of Inclusive education and understanding children with special needs – 5 Questions

  • Addressing learners from diverse backgrounds including disadvantaged and deprived (वंचित और वंचित सहित विविध पृष्ठभूमि के शिक्षार्थियों को संबोधित करना)
  • Addressing the needs of children with learning difficulties, ‘impairment’ etc. (सीखने की कठिनाइयों वाले बच्चों की आवश्यकताओं को संबोधित करना, हानि ’आदि।)
  • Addressing the Talented, Creative, Specially abled Learners (टैलेंटेड, क्रिएटिव, विशेष रूप से एबल्ड लर्नर्स को संबोधित किया)

Part 3 : Learning and Pedagogy – 5 Questions

  • How children think and learn; how and why children ‘fail’ to achieve success in school performance. (बच्चे कैसे सोचते और सीखते हैं; कैसे और क्यों बच्चे स्कूल के प्रदर्शन में सफलता पाने के लिए ‘असफल’ हो जाते हैं।)
  • Basic processes of teaching and learning; children’s strategies of learning; learning as a social activity; social context of learning. (शिक्षण और सीखने की बुनियादी प्रक्रियाएं; बच्चों की सीखने की रणनीति; एक सामाजिक गतिविधि के रूप में सीखना; सीखने का सामाजिक संदर्भ।)

  • Cognition & Emotions (अनुभूति और भावनाएँ)
  • Child as a problem solver and a ‘scientific investigator’ (बाल समस्या समाधानकर्ता और ‘वैज्ञानिक अन्वेषक’ के रूप में)
  • Alternative conceptions of learning in children, understanding children’s ‘errors’ as significant steps in the learning process. (बच्चों में सीखने की वैकल्पिक अवधारणा, बच्चों की ’त्रुटियों’ को सीखने की प्रक्रिया के महत्वपूर्ण चरणों के रूप में समझना।)

CTET Paper 1 Syllabus – Language 1

Part 1 : Language Comprehension – 15 Questions

Reading Comprehension – two passages one prose or drama and one poem with questions on comprehension, inference, grammar and verbal ability (Prose passage may be literary, scientific, narrative or discursive).

Part 2 : Pedagogy of Language Development – 15 Questions

  • Learning and acquisition
  • Role of listening and speaking; function of language and how children use it as a tool
  • Principles of language Teaching
  • Critical perspective on the role of grammar in learning a language for communicating ideas verbally and in written form.
  • Language Skills
  • Challenges of teaching language in a diverse classroom; language difficulties, errors and disorders
  • Teaching- learning materials: Textbook, multi-media materials, multilingual resource of the classroom.

CTET Paper Negative Marking

  • Visually Impaired (VI) candidates will get a separate question paper.
  • Every sections are compulsory to attempt.
  • No negative marking in both Paper 1 & 2.
  • Candidate is allowed to use blue or black pen.
  • PwD candidates with more than 40% disability can keep a scribe with them.
  • Use of Pencil is not allowed. Answer sheet will be rejected in case use of Pencil.

CTET Certificate Validity Period

CTET Certificate has seven years of validity period from the date of result declared. It is applicable to all categories.
