Haryana PCS is also called as Haryana Civil Service Exam. PCS (Provincial Civil Service) is a state level civil service. Selected Candidates are worked under state government and cannot be transferred to other states. Each state has its own public service commission which conduct a multi layer exam to select employees. It is also known as state civil service.
Haryana Public Service Commission (HPSC) conducts the HCS exam to recruit the officers for the state government who are second only to the IAS officers posted in the state. It is a prestigious exam for candidates of Haryana.

Indian History, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Geography, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Science, Botany, Commerce and Accountancy, Economics, Law, Political Science and International Relations, Psychology, Public Administration, Sociology, Zoology.

HCS Main Optional Subjects
Indian History, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Geography, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Science, Botany, Commerce and Accountancy, Economics, Law, Political Science and International Relations, Psychology, Public Administration, Sociology, Zoology, English Literature, Hindi Literature ( in Devnagri Script), Political Science and International Relations, Punjabi Literature, Sanskrit Literature.
HCS Topic Combination Restriction
Aspirants will not be allowed to offer the following combinations of subjects:
- Political Science and International Relations and Public Administration
- Agriculture and Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Science
- Hindi Literature, English Literature, Sanskrit Literature and Punjabi Literature
- Of the Engineering Subjects viz. Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering not more than one subject.
Candidates fifteen times the number of vacancies advertised will be admitted to the Main Examination. Candidate thrice the number of vacancies advertised will be selected for the Personality Test. The candidate who qualifies for the Main Exam will have to apply again in the separate application form which will be supplied by the Haryana Public Service Commission free of cost.
