RRB JE Exam Analysis Mathematics – Stage 1, 2, 3

RRB JE Maths Shift 1 Exam Questions

1. tan A = 1/2 and tan B = 1/3, find value of tan (A+B).

Formula = tan(A+B) = tanA tanB/ (1-tanA tanB). Put value of tanA and tan B

2. Present Age Ration of P : Q : R = 4 : 7 : 9 and difference between age of R & Q = 8 years. Total age will be

R – Q  = 8

9 – 7 = 2 => 8

1 => 4

P + Q + R =  (4 + 7 + 9) * 4 = 80

3. Rs. 100 per kg oil and 50 per kg oil. In what proportion are these mixed so that we can sell by earning 20% profit as Rs 96 per kg.

20% mean = 6/5

SP = 6

CP = (5 * 16) = 80

Ration = 30 : 20 = 3 : 2

4. Distance between A and B is 110 KM. One train run at speed 20 kmph at 7 : 00 AM & other at 25 kmph at 8 : 00 AM in opposite direction. When will both train meet to each other.

At 8 AM, distance between both train will become 110-20 = 90 KM. Now put formula of relative speed.

t = 90/ (20+25) = 90/45 = 2 hrs). Ans – 10 AM

1. If a(a+b+c) = 45, b(a+b+c) = 75, c(a+b+c)=105, then a2 + b2 + c2 =? => Ans – 83

2. A and B complete the work in 10 and 15 days respectively. If A, B and C will work together, they complete the work in 5 days. If there is total Rs. 1080, what share will be have each one. -> Money will be distributed based on their work efficiency.

A-> 10 -> 60/10 = 6

B-> 15 -> 60/15 = 4

A+B+C-> 5 ->  60/5 = 12 -> C = 2

LCM of total work = 60

12 -> Rs. 1080

1 -> Rs. 90

A = 6 * 90 = 540

B = 4 * 90 = 360

C = 2 * 90 =180

3. If the ratio of father and son 10 year ago is 3 : 1 and after ten year is 2 : 1, What will be father and son’s present age.

It means that difference of age between son and father = 20

F : S = 3 : 1 = 60 : 20  = 60+10 : 20 + 10 (present age)

4. Sin 60 Cos 30 + Cos 60 Sin 30 =?

Formula = Sin (A+B) = Sin A Cos B + Cos A Sin B

Ans -> Sin 90 = 1

5. S.I rate = 5%, Interest of 3 year is 6000. What will be C.I of 2 year at the rate of 8 %.

15 % = 6000

100% = 40,000

[ P (RT)% = 6000

P 15% = 6000

P = 40,000 ]

40,000 * 8/100 = 3200 * 2

3200*8/100 = 256 * 1

6400+256 = 6656 Ans

6. If radius of cylinder is increase 3 times and volume is equal for both cylinder. What will ratio of their heights?

h1/h2 = ?

πr12h1 = πr12h2  => h1/h2 = (r2/r1)2

= 9/1

7. tanA + tanB = a & cotA + cotB = b, Calculate 1/a – 1/b

If we consider A = 60 and B = 30, then √3 + 1/√3 = a and 1/√3 + √3 = b

1/a – 1/b = 0

Ans. Cot(A+B) Cot 90 = 0

8. 40 % people read newspaper A and 50% read newspaper B and 20 % does not either newspaper. 500 People read both newspapers. How many total people are there?

It means 80% read the newspaper. Only 30% read A and read 10% Both A & B, 40% read A.

10 % = 500

100% = 5000
