In SSC GD Constable Physical Efficiency Test (PET), event of race competition happens for the further selection.

SSC GD Constable Detailed Medical Exam (DME) – Document Verification

Candidates will be shortlisted for Detailed Medical Exam (DME) from the pool of candidates who qualify PET/PST. At the time of DME, following documents are verified.

  • Education Qualification Certificates
  • Domicile Certificate/ Permanent Resident Certificate (PRC) issued by the competent authority.
  • Certificate from serving defence personnel in the format prescribed at Annexure-IV of the notice.
  • Ex-servicemen candidates regarding completion of engagement in Armed Force – undertaking in the format prescribed format Annexure-V.
  • Caste Certificate
  • Height/Chest Measurement Relaxation.
  • Certificate of riot victim from District Collector/ District Magistrate.
  • Nativity/ Identity Certificate

After Document verification, eye test of candidates will take place.

After 7th pay Commission (CPC), basic salary or pay scale of SSC GD Constable  will be Rs. 5200 – 20200 with a grade pay (GP) of Rs. 2000 per month.

SSC GD Constable Job Profile

SSC GD (General Duty ) Constable will be appointed in any one of the armed force i.e. Border Security Force (BSF), Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), National Investigation Agency (NIA) and Secretariat Security Force (SSF) and Rifleman (General Duty) in Assam Rifles.

Following are the responsibilities and roles of a GD constables based on Departments

CAPF Department : GD constable is fully responsible for the overall activities in absence of Assistant Sub-Inspectors.

BSF Department : To protect the Indo-Pakistan and Indo-Bangladesh Border.

CISF Department : To provide security to various PSU’s and other important infrastructures.

CRPF Department : Operating abroad as part of Indian Peace Keeping Force (IPKF).

SSB Department : To protect the Indo – Nepal and Indo – Bhutan borders.

ITBP Department : To protect the border between India & China (From Ladakh to Arunachal Pradesh).

Rifleman (General Duty) In Assam Rifle : As the Border Guarding Force for the Indo – Myanmar border and is also its lead intelligence agency
