SSC Stenographer Vacancy 2018

SSC Stenographer Grade ‘C’ and ‘D’ vacancies will be in Ministries/Departments of Central Government along with their attached /Subordinate offices located in States and Union Territories all over the country.

SSC Stenographer Education Qualification

Candidates should have passed 12th standard or equivalent from a recognised board or university.

SSC Stenographer Selection Procedure

Commission takes an All India Open Competitive Exam for selecting the right candidates to fill the posts of SSC Stenographer Grade C and D. Candidates must know the SSC Stenographer Selection Procedure 2018-19. Three rounds are usually conducted by commission that are given below.

SSC Stenographer ‘C’ and ‘D’ Tier-1 Exam Pattern

Tier-1 exam will be computer based exam in online mode. Below 3 Sections will come into SSC Stenographer ‘C’ and ‘D’ Tier-1 Paper.

SSC Stenographer Tier-1 Exam Pattern

SSC Stenographer ‘C’ & ‘D’ Negative marking

Negative marking exists for SSC Stenographer Tier-1 exam 2018. When you have given wrong answer for a question, mark 0.25 as penalty will be deducted from the total marks. Exam duration for visually handicapped is 2 hours 40 minutes. Paper will be in bilingual except English.

SSC Stenographer Skill Test

Aspirants who get the qualifying marks in online computer based exam as already prescribed by commission board will only be called for Skill Test.  Qualifying marks can be in each separate sections. Skill test will also be qualifying nature.

Candidates will be provided one dictation for 10 minutes in English / Hindi at the speed of 100 w.p.m. for the post of Stenographer Grade ‘C’ and 80 w.p.m. for the post of Stenographer Grade ‘D’.

Dictated matter or passage will have to type on the computer only. Evaluation of transcription will be done electronically. Don’t do the spelling mistake while typing on computer. This will deduct your marks.

SSC Stenographer Skill Test Dictation

Whenever any aspirants has not mentioned the medium of stenographer skill test in their application form, commission will automatically consider the medium as English by default.

No exemption from skill test will be allowed for any candidates. Every qualified candidates should have to give the skill test dictation.

Aspirants who has chose to take Stenography test in Hindi have needed to learn English Stenography as well after their appointment.

Skill test will be conducted at the Commission’s Regional/Sub Regional Offices or at other centres as decided already by commission.

All the detailed instructions for skill test will be sent to the candidates called for skill test by concerned Regional/Sub Regional Offices of the Commission.

SSC Stenographer 2018 – General Awareness

India and its Neighboring countries especially pertaining to Sports, History, Culture, Geography, Economic scene, General Polity including Indian Constitution, and Scientific Research etc

Knowledge of current events and of such matters of everyday observation and experience in their scientific aspects.

Candidates do not require a special study of any discipline. VH candidates of 40% and above visual disability /cerebral palsy affected candidates and opting for scribe there will be no component of Maps/Graphs/Diagrams/Statistical Data in the General Intelligence & Reasoning / General Awareness Paper.

Ability of the candidate’s general awareness of the environment around him and its application to society.
