SSC CHSL Exam Analysis 11th March 2018 (Shift 2)- Quantitative Aptitude Questions Asked

1. Find the single discount for three consecutive discount of 20%, 30% and 15%. Ans – 52.4%

2. Find the length diagonal of regular trapezium if parallel side trapezium are 30 cm and 18 cm respectively and height of the regular trapezium is 10 cm.

AC² = AE² + EC², AE= 10 cm and EC = 24 cm

AC² = 676

AC = 26 cm.

3. If the area of isosceles triangle ABC is 108 cm2 and distance of base BC from centroid is 6 cm and length of equal sides are 6√10 cm , find the length of base.

GM = 6 cm and AM = 18 cm (AG : GM = 2 : 1)

MC2 = AC2 – AM2

MC2 = 360 – 324 = 36

MC = 6 cm ,then BC = 2 MC = 12 cm

4. Work efficiency of A is 3 times of B. A and B complete the work in 15 days, how much time will B take to complete the work? Ans – 60 days

B complete the one unit work = 1 days

A complete the one unit work = 3 days

A + B complete the one unit work = 4 days

A + B complete the 15 unit work = 15 × 4 = 60days

B complete the same work = 60/1 = 60 days

5. If any person have purchased 12 items in Rs. 12 and sold each item in 1.25 paise, what is profit or loss %?

CP for each item= Rs. 1

SP for each item = Rs. 1.25

Profit = 0.25/1 × 100 = 25%

6. One tank have two pipes which can fill in 3 and 4 hr respectively. Tank also have one leak empty in 2 hr. When these all three work together, in how many time will it fill?

LCM of 3, 4, 2 = 12

1st Pipe fill in 1 hr = 4 unit

2nd Pipe fill in 1 hr = 3 unit

3rd leak empty in 1 hr = 6 unit

If all work together, 4+3-2 = 1

7. If isosceles triangle have inner radius (circle) 3 cm, what will be length of its each median?

1 = r = 3 cm

2 = 6 cm

M = 3 × 3 = 9 cm

8. Ratio of area of two similar triangle is 9 : 16 , what will be the ratio of their same side.

Area of a triangle depends on = side²

A₁/A₂ = a₁²/a₂²

= 9/16 = 3/4

9. One boat with the river can flow 36 km in 6 hr and against the river can flow 40 km in 8 hr, find speed of stream?

Boat travel with the river in 6h = 36 KM

Boat travel with the river in 1 h = 6 KM

Boat travel against the river in 8 hr = 40 KM

Boat travel against the river in 1 hr = 5 km

x+y = 6

x-y = 5

y = 0.5 km/hr

10. If cost price of 15 Iron is equal to selling price of 10 Iron, what will be profit or loss%. Ans – 50%

11. Ans – -2

12. Polygon have 8 sides, what will be its inner angle and outer angle ratio?

Formula : n-2/n × 180 : 360/n

Ans- 3 : 1
