1. If P = 3 + 1/P , find value of (P4 + 1/P4).

P – 1/P =3

P2 + 1/P2 -2 = 9

P2 + 1/P2  = 11

Again square both side

P4 + 1/P4 + 2 = 121

P4 + 1/P4  = 119

2. Present age of Pushpa is double of age of two year ago of Rita. If the difference of present age of them is 2 years, what will be present age of Pushpa?

P = x

R = y

x= 2(y-2)

x – 2y = 4

x – y = 2

Solve both equations, you will get the answer.

3. Find the height of equi-angled Prism made at the isosceles triangle base of side 6 cm and whose volume is 108√3 cm3

V = Base * Height

108√3  = (√3 /2)a2 * h

108√3  = (√3 /2)62 * h

h = 12 cm.

4. If a + 1 / (a-2) = 4, then (a-2)2 + 1/(a-2)2 = ?

a + 1 / (a-2) = 4

(a-2) + 1 / (a-2) = 2

Square both side

(a-2)2 + 1/(a-2)+ 2 = 4

(a-2)2 + 1/(a-2)= 2

5. Find 1/(1+tan2θ) + 1/(1+cot2θ)

1+tan2θ = sec2θ

1+cot2θ = cosec2θ

1/sec2θ + 1/ cosec2θ

sin2θ + cos2θ  = 1

6. 12 men and 16 boys together complete the work in 5 days. 13 men and 24 boys together complete the same work in 4 days. What will be the ratio of work of one man and one boy?

(12 M + 16 B).5 = 60 M + 80 B

(13 M + 24 B).4 = 52 M + 96 B

8 M = 16 B

M/B = 16/8

M : B = 2 : 1

7. One seller has sold one iron on the loss of 6% . If he has sold one Iron at Rs. 64 more, he was having 10% profit. What will be the cost of the Iron.

CP = 100

SP = 94

110 – 94 = 16% = 64

CP = 64/16 * 100 = 400

8. 15%, 20% and 25% discount sequence will be equal to ?

(a+b+ab)/100

9. A chord of a circle is equal to its radius. One tangent has been drawn on one side of chord with circle. What will be the angle between tangent and chord of a circle?

Ans – 30º

10. Triangle ABC has 3 medians AD, BE and CF cut each other at G. If area of triangle of ABC is 36 cm2 , what will be area of Traingle CGE ?

It will divide each in equal size part . Ans – 6 cm2

11. If average length of 30 boys in a class of 50 boys is 160 cm. If average length of rest of boys is 100 cm, what will be average length of whole class?

(30 * 160 + 20 * 100)/50= Ans
