Lok Sabha is also known as the lower house of the Parliament of India or the house of people. Each member of a lok sabha seat represents a single geographic constituency. Currently, there are 543 constituencies in India but maximum members can be up to 552.
Total is made up of 530 members representing people of the states of India and up to 20 members representing people from the Union Territories on the basis of population. Rest of 2 members can be nominated by the President of India.
Allocation and distribution of seat to different states and UTs is done on the basis of population of the 1971.

If the President of India think that there is no representation (if no Anglo Indian member won the election) in the Lok Sabha from the Anglo Community, then he can nominate 2 members. The number of members of Parliament will be reviewed in 2026.
