UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) has declared the official notification for Indian Economic Service (IES) – भारतीय सांख्यिकी सेवा and Indian Statistical Service (ISS) – भारतीय आर्थिक सेवा परीक्षा on 20th Mar 2019. 

Aspirated candidates can apply from the official website of UPSC upsconline.nic.in. The Online Applications can be filled up to 16th April, 2019 till 18.00 Hours.

UPSC IES ISS Exam Centres

UPSC IES Exam will be commenced from 28th June 2019 and the exam centre will be one of them provided by you in the application form.

UPSC IES ISS Eligibility Criteria

Below is given the eligibility criteria for the post of IES & ISS.

UPSC IES ISS Age Limit

A candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 30 years on 1st August, 2019 i.e he/she must have been born not earlier than 2nd August, 1989 and not later than 1st August, 1998.

A candidate has ordinarily been domiciled in the State of Jammu and Kashmir during the period from the 1st January, 1980 to the 31st December, 1989. 5 Yrs
Defence Services Personnel disabled in operations during hostilities with any foreign country or in a disturbed area, and released as a consequence. 3 Yrs
ExS including Commissioned Officers and ECOs/SSCOs who have rendered at least five years Military Service as on 1st August, 2019. 5 Yrs
PwD 10 Yrs

UPSC IES Education Qualification

Candidate for the Indian Economic Service must have obtained a Post-Graduate Degree in Economics/Applied Economics/Business Economics/Econometrics

UPSC ISS Education Qualification

A candidate for the Indian Statistical Service must have obtained a Bachelor’s Degree with Statistics/Mathematical Statistics/Applied Statistics as one of the subject or a Master’s degree in Statistics/Mathematical Statistics/Applied Statistics

UPSC IES ISS Application Fee

Candidates can pay the application fee by online (i.e. netbanking, credit/debit cards etc.) or offline mode.

How to Apply for UPSC IES ISS Posts

1. Visit to above link or official website of UPSC.

2. Click on the Part-1 link for which posts (IES or ISS) you want to apply.

Process to Apply for UPSC IES ISS

3. Add Part-1 required Information and identity Proof number like Aadhar Card Number.

4. A registration number will be generated and login it through Part-2.

5. Do payment online and select exam centres.

6. Add Photo, Sign (JPEG Format, 20 KB < Size < 300 KB) & Photo Identity Card Upload.

7. Tick on the Agreement and Finally your application is successfully completed.

UPSC IES ISS Selection Procedure

The examination shall be conducted according to the following plan—
Part I-Written examination carrying a maximum of 1000 marks in the subjects as shown below.
Part II-Viva voice of such candidates as may be called by the Commission carrying a maximum of 200 marks.

UPSC IES Part-1 Exam Pattern

The subjects of the written examination under Part-I, the maximum marks allotted to each subject/paper and the time allowed shall be as follows :

Note-1 : Statistics I & II will be of Objective Type Questions (80 questions with maximum marks of 200 in each paper) to be attempted in 120 minutes.
Note-2 : Statistics III & IV will be of Descriptive Type having Short Answer/ Small Problems Questions (50%) and Long Answer and Comprehension problem questions (50%). At least one Short Answer and One Long Answer Question from each section is compulsory. In Statistics-IV, equal number of questions i.e. 50% weightage from all the sub-sections
below and candidates have to choose any two sub-sections and answer.
Note 3 : The papers on General English and General Studies, common to both Indian Economic Service and Indian Statistical Service will be of subjective type.
Note 4 : All other papers of Indian Economic Service will be of subjective type.
