Dhyan Chand Award is India’s highest award for lifetime achievement in sports and games, given by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and sports, Government of India . The award is named after the legendary Indian hockey player Dhyan Chand who scored more than 1000 Goals during his career.

- This award carries statute , certificate and a prize of 5 Lakhs rupees.

- The first recipient of this award are Shahuraj Birajdar(Boxing), Ashok Diwan(Hockey), Aparna Ghosh(Basketball) in 2002.
- Recently, This award is given to Satyadev Prasad(Archery), Bharat Kumar Chetri(Hockey), Miss Boby Aloycious(Athletics) and Chougale Dadu Dattatray(Wrestling) in 2018.
- In 2017, it was given to Simrai Tete(Hockey), Syed Sahid Hakim(Football),Bupender Singh(Atheletics)
