Dadasaheb Phalke Award is a National Award of Indian Film World. Every year, This award is given by Indian Government for the commemorate of Dada Saheb Phalke to Indian Indian  film maker for the outstanding contribution and development in Indian Cinema.

  • Dadasaheb Phalke Award is also known as ” Lifetime Achievement Award”.
  • This award is given in the remember of Dundiraj Govind Phalke / Dadasaheb Phalke who is known as “father of Indian Film Industry” .
  • In 1913, the credit for making Indian 1st mute full length film”Raja Harishchandra” is given to Dundiraj Govind Phalke
  • This award is first instituted in year 1969.
  • This prize consists of a Swarna Kamal(Golden Lotus) medallion, a Shawl and Cash Prize Rs. 10 Lakhs
